It’s the Little Things

It’s easy to say that you want to be healthy. But how do you cut off habits that have been built up over time? Baby steps. Here are three little changes that will make a huge difference.

You can start a healthy lifestyle by drinking more water and cutting down on sugar. Instead of drinking a soda, try drinking a bottle of water. The average can of soda has nearly 120 calories and 40 grams of sugar. Water has zero, zilch, none.

Instead of frying your favorite meat, try baking it. You can use multiple seasonings to bring out the flavor of the meat. Olive oil, lemons/limes, and a few spices/ herbs (rosemary, garlic, basil, oregano) are common ingredients that you can use to season meat.

Exercise during TV breaks. Try picking a few exercises to do when your favorite television show goes on commercial breaks. For example, you can do squats the first break, alternating left and right lunges the second break, and crunches on the third break.

With that said, it’s time to revitalize and renew your body. A stronger body leads to a stronger mind. Here are a few workouts to help you get started.

  • 3 sets of 50 Jumping Jacks
  • Run or Jog for 5-10 minutes
  • 3 sets of 50 Crunches
  • Three 1 minute planks
  • 3 sets of 15 burpees
